All assets need to be associated with a product or category. This is to help organise groups of assets together, provides a basic form of categorisation, and is useful for reporting/analytics.
1. Click [Admin]
2. Click [Products/Categories]
3. Click [Add]
4. Populate mandatory fields
5. Click [Save]
Status:
- Active: This product/category is usable.
- Deleted: This removes the product/category from SAM.
- Inactive: This retains the product/category in the database in case you wish to reactive at a later time.
For ease of use, products/categories can also be added directly when adding new assets.
