How to make a QR Code publicly shareable in myINTERACT

Modified on Tue, 23 May, 2023 at 2:31 PM

One of the many key features of myINTERACT is the ability to generate a QR code, which are scannable codes that can be used by anyone to access the content on your wall. By default, QR codes generated in myINTERACT are private, meaning your wall can only be accessed by users who have the QR code. However, making a QR code public will allow your connections to share the wall with anyone they like, whether that's for marketing purposes, education, or any other use case. To make a QR code public, complete the following steps:

Step 1: Login to SAM

The first step is to log into SAM and visit the 'QR Code' tab on the wall you would like to make publicly available. Once you land on this QR code tab you should see a screen similar to the below:

Step 2: Edit the QR code you would like to make public

As mentioned above, when a QR code is first created, it will be private. To make the code publicly shareable, you will need to edit the details of the QR code. This can be done in two ways:

  1. By double clicking on any of the text that represents the code, i.e. in the above image, double clicking 'Connect to Users team' will open the edit screen.
  2. By clicking on the QR code once and then clicking on the blue 'Edit' button above.

Once either of these have been completed, you should then see the following screen:

Step 3: Tick the 'Publicly shareable?' box

From here, the next step is to finally make the QR code publicly shareable! This is done by clicking the box next to 'Publicly shareable?' until you see that the box has been filled in with a white tick.

A warning will then popup informing you that whenever a myINTERACT user goes to share your wall, this QR code will be used, meaning that in the below example, they will be connected to the 'Users' team.

Step 4: Save Changes

The final step and perhaps one of the most important steps, is to make sure that you save your changes! To do this simply click on the blue 'Save' button in the bottom right hand corner.
